Let's Get Dressed 7/13-7/17
Let’s Get Dressed: One Color, Five Outfit Ideas
New week. New outfits. Same closet.
I AM SO EXCITED for this week because we are doing something a little different.
Since I am traveling, I am showing you one of my favorite ways to make packing and getting dressed feel easier: choosing one color story and building the week around it.
For me, this week, that color is brown.
But fabulous, this works with any color.
Black. Navy. White. Cream. Olive. Denim. Red. Whatever feels like you.
The color itself is not the point.
The point is creating a palette so your pieces start working together before you ever leave home.
When you choose one color story, your shoes make more sense. Your accessories make more sense. Your layers make more sense. And suddenly, you can create completely different outfits without packing your entire closet.
That is the magic.
Same color story.
Totally different outfits.
This Week’s Outfit Prompts
Monday: Gingham
We are starting the week with gingham.
Gingham is classic, playful, and such an easy way to bring personality into a simple color palette. When you keep the color story consistent, even a pattern feels easy to style.
Style lesson: A pattern can still feel polished when it lives inside a clear color palette.
Tuesday: Floral
Tuesday is all about floral.
Florals do not have to feel overly sweet or complicated. When you choose a floral in your color story, it becomes easier to mix with your shoes, accessories, and layers.
Style lesson: A print becomes more wearable when the colors connect to the rest of your wardrobe.
Wednesday: Animal Print
You know I love a good transformation moment.
This animal print piece used to be long, and I made it short. Sometimes the best thing you can do for your wardrobe is not buy something new. It is alter something you already own so it works better for your life and your body today.
Style lesson: Before you give up on a piece, ask if one small change could make you love it again.
Thursday: One Dress, Three Ways
This is the first week of a little style experiment.
I am taking one dress and wearing it three different ways over the next three Thursdays.
Why? Because this is how we make our wardrobes work harder.
One dress does not have to be one outfit. With different shoes, accessories, layers, and styling choices, it can become something completely new.
Style lesson: The more ways you can wear one piece, the more valuable it becomes in your wardrobe.
Friday: Favorite Summer Dress
We are ending the week with a favorite summer dress.
Because sometimes getting dressed does not need to be complicated. Sometimes you just need the piece that makes you feel easy, pretty, confident, and ready for the day.
Style lesson: Your favorite pieces are clues. Pay attention to what you reach for again and again.
How to Use This Week’s Prompts
Choose one color this week and see how many different ways you can wear it.
Try a pattern.
Try a texture.
Try a dress.
Try an accessory.
Try something unexpected.
It does not have to be brown. It just has to give you a place to start.
These prompts are not rules.
They are inspiration.
Take the idea, make it your own, and let your closet surprise you.
Because you do not need a new wardrobe.
You need a new way to see the one you already have.
New week. New outfits. Same closet.
Let’s get dressed! XO
