You Carry Emotional Weight in Your Closet
I have spent more than 25 years inside women’s closets and I can tell you this with complete certainty, most women are not struggling because they don’t have enough clothes. They are struggling because their closet has become a place of overwhelm, pressure, guilt, confusion, and emotional weight.
I can feel it the second I walk in.
The tension.
The embarrassment.
The apology before we even begin.
Honestly? I used to bring champagne with me to closet appointments because I knew women were uncomfortable. I wanted to soften the experience and make it feel safe and fun instead of shameful. Because what looks like “too much stuff” is usually so much deeper than that.
Women are overwhelmed. They are carrying emotional baggage in their closets.
They are holding onto versions of themselves. Waiting to lose weight. Saving pieces for someday.
Staring at things they spent too much money on. Trying to figure out why they still feel like they have nothing to wear. And over the years, I started noticing something incredible..the moment the chaos cleared… women changed.
You could physically see it leave their bodies. Their shoulders relaxed, their energy shifted, and their confidence came back.
Women think it won’t change anything… but it does. That’s why I started these weekly styling videos. Not because I wanted to become another stylist posting outfit formulas online, but because I wanted women to stop opening their closet to chaos. Instead open it to one simple thing.
One prompt.
One focus.
One intentional choice.
Because when I say “Wear stripes today", you stop spiraling through your entire wardrobe trying to figure out what works. Instead, your brain focuses on ONE thing. And suddenly you start seeing what you DO have. You start creating, experimenting, and playing again.
THAT changes everything.
These prompts are not really about the clothes. They are about confidence. They are about helping women reconnect with themselves in a simple, approachable way.
I don’t care what brand you’re wearing.
I don’t care how much you spent.
I care about the sparkle.
I care about the moment a woman looks in the mirror and says, "I feel confident."
I care about the bigger smile, the lighter energy, and the confidence she carries into the rest of her day. When women feel good in what they are wearing, they show up differently. I know this personally.
I’ve had a hard year in my own body and appearance, and honestly? I’m so grateful I already had these skills. These prompts have helped me too. Instead of standing in front of my closet asking
'what am I going to wear?”, I ask “How do I want to feel today?”
That changes everything.
Even recently, I had a client stop by unexpectedly while I was wearing the worst pajamas imaginable. Hair a mess. Looking terrible. I was mortified. Not because women can’t have messy moments...of course we can. But I know how differently I show up when I intentionally dress for my day.
I work differently.
I interact differently.
I carry myself differently.
And I want women to experience that too.
I am a woman who was designed to play dress up.
To love femininity.
To play with style.
To create beauty.
And these videos have reignited that passion in me all over again. That’s why I’m doing this. Not to tell women what to wear, but to help them (YOU) see themselves differently. To help them feel inspired instead of overwhelmed. To help them realize they already have more possibilities than they think.
Every Friday, I’ll share the next week’s prompts so you have time to think, play, and create your looks over the weekend. Then each day prior to the task, I’ll break the styling down even further so it feels easy, wearable, and real. Follow along so you never miss it.
This isn’t about dressing better....it’s about feeling better in your own life. XO
This week’s styling prompts are all about taking simple, wearable pieces and elevating them in an intentional way. We’re brightening up brown, adding pearls, bringing in lace, learning how to mix patterns without fear, and elevating casual track pants into outfits that feel styled and current. The goal is not perfection. It’s awareness. It’s learning how small intentional choices can completely shift the way you feel in your clothes and the way you show up in your life.
Watch this week’s video below and follow along with me all week long.
I love your blog post. I will definitely need to have you come up for closet help! Thank you so much.
